Our project had a boost this week with the donation of 400 theatre seats from Cambridge Arts Theatre. The Labour government has announced that they are “minded to cancel” the Levelling Up Fund for Culture, that included £5m for capital cultural projects in Mendip. News of our potential funding remains on hold. Following July’s election, we are still waiting for news on how the new government will manage community funding. Our bid to purchase and reopen the Amulet had been well received but along with many other community campaigns, we are currently waiting for the bidding process to reopen….
