Four Hundred Free Theatre Seats

Our project had a boost this week with the donation of 400 theatre seats from Cambridge Arts Theatre.  They will be used in the short term for temporary pop-up events and when we own the building, they will be installed in the auditorium.

The Amulet’s original seating was destroyed by a water leak some years ago, although the raisable platform that they sat on remains in place. The cost of replacement seats has been quoted at £70,000, so it will be big help to have the Cambridge seats in storage, ready to be used whenever they are required.

Cambridge Arts Theatre is undergoing a £16m refurbishment, which will include 600 new theatre seats, so they were happy to donate their old seats to the Amulet project. We just had to send a lorry to collect them and find somewhere dry to store them.

Market Place Photo Shoot

We brought 20 seats to the market place for a photo shoot, with a small group of supporters. Thank you to Jason Bryant for taking the great photos below.
