Events Return to The Amulet

We are excited to announce the return of cinema, theatre, dancing and live music to the Amulet – just for this summer.

There will be something for everyone in the events lineup, which opens with Mark Chadwick of the Levellers on Friday 4th July, followed the next day by Shepton Mallet Big Band and runs until the end of August 2025. There will be evening movie nights and the popular tradition of Saturday afternoon family films will also return. Two theatre shows will take place in August with Noel Coward’s classic Private Lives featuring a cast of five professional actors.

We have temporary access to the ground floor of the building where our team of volunteers have built an exhibition gallery, 60 seat auditorium and a cafe bar.

Community Share Offer Continues

Our community share offer launched on Saturday 24th May and will run during the summer events programme.

This will allow individuals and organisations to buy shares in The Amulet Centre Limited, which is the charitable community benefit society that we have created to buy and operate the building.

Unlike traditional investments, community shares offer people a stake – and a say – in enterprises that exist to serve the public good. Investors become members and co-owners of the enterprise, with a democratic voice in how it’s run, whilst making a meaningful difference locally.  We expect the offer to raise a target of £200,000 towards the purchase and reopening of the building.
