Following their chance re-encounter in the south-east corner of Glastonbury Festival in 2024, old schoolmates CISSY + Dan Hughes have been writing and performing as a duo and sharing their love for jazz and folk styles. As well as performing their favourite standards from these genres, the pair also enjoy sharing their own tunes, touching on themes of love, loss and the natural world. CISSY + Dan have been known to use Shepton Mallet as a rehearsal base of late so you may have already heard them at the Sunday Jazz sessions in Bar501 so we are really excited to have them returning to play at our FREE OPEN-AIR JAZZ SUNDAY in the Market Place in the heart of the town.
The afternoon kicks off with some beautiful vinyl selections spun by DJs from the Bar 501 Jazz Sunday sessions.
