McCrory Brothers
Growing up in Belfast in the 70’s the McCrory brothers fuse an eclectic mix of their own original songs with traditional Irish sensibilities and a hint of Floydian/Genesis/Horslipian spice. Much of their material is then inspired from traditional and contemporary Irish writers, the most romantic and poetic songsmiths in the world.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Eliza Carthy is now no longer able to perform at Folk Friday on the 19th June. She will instead be focusing on her collaborative show at The Cheese and Grain in Frome on 12th July, celebrating the songs of her father, Martin Carthy. We are currently working with Eliza to reschedule her Shepton appearance for a future date.
We are very pleased to announce that Steve Knightley (of Show of Hands) will now headline the evening with a full set —a formidable headliner in his own right and featuring guest handpan player Daniel Salvatore, it’s a real treat to have them performing at the inaugural Shepton Midsummer Fest.
We are also delighted to confirm that the exceptional McCrory Brothers, known for their powerful mix of traditional and contemporary Irish songs, will be joining us as main support. We will be contacting the current ticket holders to Folk Friday over the next few days to offer a full refund if they wish it, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this line-up change may have caused.
