About The Project

The Amulet project is a grassroots, community-led effort to bring Shepton Mallet’s much-loved theatre and civic venue back into public use. Since May 2023, a group of dedicated volunteer directors has been working to secure the building and shape a vision for its future. What began as a small campaign has grown into a wide network of local residents, artists, builders, organisers and supporters – all giving their time, skills and energy to make this dream a reality. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you – just get in touch!

The Project Directors

There are currently three founding directors who originally set up the community benefit society. They
will stand down at the first annual general meeting when the first board of directors will be elected
from the new membership, which will have been created by the community share offer.
