Let’s Buy The Amulet were delighted to have hosted Ekleido last October for a week-long residency here in Shepton Mallet as part of those preparations\, and to now be hosting the full performances on their national tour. \nOpening the programme is Ekleido’s critically acclaimed Splice in which two dancers find the balance between limitation and possibility to solve a physical puzzle. \nCompleting the bill is Rorschach\, a trio that reimagines the iconic Rorschach inkblot test. The residency will include some community engagement activity at Create@#8 with local groups and public events finishing with a full performance in Croscombe Village Hall on Saturday 25th October. \n\nJoin creative duo Ekleido for a mesmerising dance experience featuring original music by world-renowned electronic musician Floating Points.  Immerse yourself in a spellbinding display of impressive acrobatics\, bodily contortions\, dazzling costumes and spectacular lights. They have both individually had extensive dance careers within the contemporary dance world\, commercial industry and underground club dance scenes\, often crossing paths with each other on projects including Rambert\, Years & Years and within The Ballroom Scene. \n \nEkleido’s work has been performed in venues and festivals including: Sadler’s Wells Breakin’ Convention\, Glastonbury Festival\, Latitude Festival\, The Place\, Ministry of Sound Ballet Nights\, and Fairfield Halls. DESCRIPTION:An opportunity to sing Natural Voice compositions and other uplifting\, ‘quick win’ songs\, creating a feeling of unity and harmony. \nThis community sing will be led by Sue Rushforth\, who celebrated her wedding at The Amulet in 1997.  Having lived and worked in Shepton district for 26 years she has a strong link with the town and would love to see The Amulet re-open as a place where people come together and enjoy themselves! \nSue ran Shepton Sings! community choir for 2 years before relocating to Cornwall.  She’s now back and very happy to be re-connecting with her ‘home’ town. \nPlease drop in\, even if you can only spare half an hour!  Stay as long as you can… \nThis is a free event\, donations invited to support the community campaign to buy the venue. \nNo need to book. This will mostly be a standing event\, chairs available. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring water or a bottle (water available).
