SUMMARY:Ekleido – Splice/Rorschach double bill
DESCRIPTION:Join professional dance company Ekleido for a breathtaking double bill dance performance incorporating voguing\, bonebreaking and threading club/street dance styles and featuring original music by world-renowned electronic musician FloatingPoints. \nEkleido usually perform in major dance venues but were selected and funded by the Rural Touring Dance Initiative and Arts Council England to adapt their show for a national rural venue tour in 2026. Let’s Buy The Amulet were delighted to have hosted Ekleido last October for a week-long residency here in Shepton Mallet as part of those preparations\, and to now be hosting the full performances on their national tour. \nOpening the programme is Ekleido’s critically acclaimed Splice in which two dancers find the balance between limitation and possibility to solve a physical puzzle. \nCompleting the bill is Rorschach\, a trio that reimagines the iconic Rorschach inkblot test. Blending storytelling\, music\, comedy and even a genuine Viking helmet\, it’s a comic ode to death\, friendship and the beautiful absurdity of life. \nThe show premiered in a tiny meeting room at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe and became a breakthrough hit: critically acclaimed\, completely sold out\, and the beginning of my career as a contemporary storyteller.
